High Point Market Trend Report: Spring 2025 (Part One)

I’ve just returned from the High Point Spring Market, and let me tell you—it was exactly the refresh I needed! The days of dull, all-grey interiors are officially behind us. Color is back, and people are embracing it with open arms! Even if you lean toward a more neutral palette, you’re likely discovering that adding texture and what I like to call “approachable” color creates a space that’s not only soothing but far more comforting.

Take the beautiful palette above: plum, brown, green, gold, and black. It’s a sophisticated combination that feels warm, cozy, and just right—not overdone, not underwhelming.

This beautiful display of traditional art is so varied and imparts interest, grounding and comfort.

Traditional Art Is Back (And I’m Thrilled)
Start digging through your mother’s or grandmother’s attic, because traditional art is having a moment—and it’s about time! I’ve always loved using inherited or vintage art in my designs. These pieces tell stories, offer a connection to our past, and bring a sense of grounding that can’t be bought. There’s nothing more personal than art with history.

The market was full of cane and it felt like it was especially for me!

From Cane to Trelliage—Texture Gets an Upgrade
Cane furniture has been trending for a while now, and I’m still a fan. But this season, we're seeing its evolution in the form of trellis or “trelliage” patterns—think of it as cane’s sophisticated next chapter. It’s bold, elegant, and definitely here to stay.

Trelliage is cane’s next chapter and I am here for it!

Make It Yours
This Anemone lamp (pictured above) is a perfect example of why your home should reflect you. Unique, personal pieces—whether found, custom-made, or created by hand—bring soul to your space. They express your passions, quirks, and the little things that make your heart sing.

A client recently told me a friend suggested she replace a meaningful piece of art with something “more dramatic.” My advice? Ignore that noise. Your home is for you. Fill it with things that matter to you. That’s what makes it truly beautiful.

The Sweetness of the Scallop
And finally, let’s talk about the scallop—yes, scalloped edges are in! We’re seeing them on ottomans, chairs, and even drapery. It’s a subtle, feminine detail that adds softness and charm without overwhelming a space. Adding a bit of scallop just softens everything!

That wraps up Part One of my 2025 trend report. I’ll be back next month with Part Two!

These trends, as I have always said, aren’t a reason to pitch everything and start all over, but adding a few items might just make you feel fresh!  Take a minute to think about all the trends I have listed.  They are time tested.  Nothing here is new, but classic and beautiful with so much staying power! You don’t have to chase trends—just choose what resonates with you.

Let’s Design for Good!
