Bloggers Heart Habitat.

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you."

Matthew 7:7

And it works both ways.  A family in need of a Fresh Start was given a home by Habitat for Humanity of Eastern Connecticut.  And a group of thankful bloggers and DIY'ers were looking for a meaningful way to Give Back.  A Match made in Heaven!

Lisa from Shine Your Light reached out to me to see if I would like to partner with her to make a living room feel like home for the new occupants before Christmas.  YES!

Let me introduce you to Charlotte of Ciburbanity, the mastermind behind Bloggers Heart Habitat. "A way for DIY bloggers to partner with local Habitat branches to create beautiful spaces ... on a dime.  Working with the homeowners, bloggers collaborate to help transform a newly built or re-furbished house into a warm home."

A little peek into Charlotte and Jillian's dining room ...

Lisa's and my goal was to take our unfinished space, the living room, and create a cozy place  for our homeowner, Jessica, and her children.  Jessica had a desire to bring some purple into her life and we were thrilled to help a girl out!

We had a wonderful donation of a sofa and loveseat and I had a rug (I might have had on hand due to some mad hoarding skills :) that pulled the gold of the sofa and the purple together.  Kismet!

HomeTalk a wonderful DIY site donated $3000.00 for two houses, break that down and it ended up being $750.00 per room.  Truly wonderful ... but as you can imagine donations were a necessity! And DIY and shopping skills to find the deals!

Lisa donated the coffee table and believe it or not, the two end tables I found on the side of the road.  (In fairness, I have to thank my husband Don ... I had my head in my phone looking at IG and he pointed them out!  Well trained Man!!) People give a way the nicest things!!  Lisa used her painting skills turning them white with a distressed look to keep the whole room feeling warm.

Lisa created the art by using a photo with WaterLogue ... she will be sharing details on this!

Very Thankful to these other ladies that shared their time and talents!  Please pop over to see what they did to give back!
