Splitting Up!

While decorating is going on here at home for Christmas ... my mind is reeling with decorating our "new" home.  We are scheduled to move in on December 30.
My "Decorista" self is splitting in two completely different directions.

So dreaming every minute about how I want my next kitchen to feel, I do know one thing.  We definitely want to bring in a piece of furniture to use as a pantry or display cabinet for all of our glassware.  We are going to need the space in the kitchen
... and I just happen to like the look!

Old Wood and Chicken Wire. I love the French feel ...

This piece is a little more simple lined ... but still very pleasing ...

The Soft Blackness of this one filled with Glass,White and Silver.

The next one is probably my favorite.  I really am not certain if this was a stand alone piece that was worked to look built in or if it is a custom cabinet.

Whatever it was/is ... I want one.

So while still in the mode of shopping in my own home to use what we have and make it feel fresh.

If you recall the Beast.  Well ... she will be making an upward move.
From the Basement to the Kitchen.

Now ... Over the next few days I have to decide a color.
My goal is to paint it before we move.  We'll see.
Does she go White. Clean. Simple.
Does she go GLOSS RED and make a statement.
Does she get some AS Chalk Paint for a softer patina.

I will be asking you for some input ... I do hope you will chime in!
I'll be adding more inspiration photos to my Pinterest Board. Here.

In the meantime ... I brought these Cinnamon scented pine cones home last week.
When Sammy walked in the door after school, she said ...

"It smells like Happiness in here!"
Yep, I promptly bought another bag!

Making the World More Beautiful.  One Room at a Time.

Happy Friday!!  After a few days "off" ... This week has been fast and furious!!

Last Fall ... this is how I was feeling ...
No Snow, just beautiful colors!

I know ... it is winter now.  The Snow brings a Black and White scenario.  But while we were in this mode I had the fun opportunity to work with a client on an addition.  A new Family Room ... and here were our inspiration fabrics.

Loving what Kravet bought to the table here and ...
so did She!!

We are still working on a few Details ... but here's what is happening.

Are you Sneaking A Peek of the Woods behind these windows ... we gave a nod to nature ... and then a little hip vibe to bring out the Color!

And Yes ... You are Spying The JAWhitaker ... oh Yeah!

Don't go judging ... the table Rocks ... but it isn't styled!!  We are Just Snapping Photos today!!

Enjoy your weekend my Sweet friends ... I will be attacking the Beast in the Basement!!

ORC Intaglios ... My Way!

About 4 weeks ago now ... Twenty of Us Bloggers lead by the Mighty Linda began a Challenge.
Complete a Room in 6 Weeks.  If you are new you can check out how it all began for ME.

So last week I asked you about the Art of Intaglio's.  Well ... I am happy to report that you all were pretty happy with the Art Form!

I gave you THE definition of an Intaglio.

Now let me tell you MY definition:

Anything 3 dimensional that you love and want to keep and would love to set apart in some way.

It all started here ...

Cookie presses from my Grandmother ... housed in a little wooden holder.  Cute, I loved them for sentimental reasons, but never would have displayed them like this in my kitchen or anywhere else.  At least not in my current design mode.

I have been drawn to Intaglios and the way they are framed is one of the things that makes me love them so much.  Off to the craft store for some shadow box frames.

I could have bought plain ones, but these were about $10.00 less ... X 4.  Sold!

And because I am bringing in my Signature Color ... Tangerine TANGO!

I picked out my Favorite Four and broke out the spray paint.

I had this left over fabric from Erin's room Re-do.
It's my Textured Intaglio Design!

Just a little part of my Grandmother with me everyday!

They will be dressing My Wall Of Illusion!

Now here's the BEAST lingering in my Basement ... towering over me daily reminding me that I am FAR from Done with this One Room Challenge ...

Anything that stops in my path with a flat surface ...
gets used!

These details that I LOVED ... are causing me great angst.  And the Consumption of Wine!

I have great hopes of bringing this to you in a Final Form next week!!
